For many patients, yes. Premium lenses can be a valuable investment for those who are active and desire excellent vision without reliance on glasses. Most patients with Tri-Focal lenses achieve significant or complete independence from glasses. However, some may still prefer glasses for prolonged close work or fine print in low light. Toric lenses dramatically reduce astigmatism but may not eliminate the need for reading glasses unless combined with a Tri-Focal.
Some patients experience mild glare or halos around lights, particularly in the first few months. These effects are generally well tolerated and your brain adapts over time, with most patients reporting they diminish substantially within a few months of surgery.
Premium cataract surgery starts from approximately £4,000 per eye at The Eye Doctor, depending on the lens type selected. This includes your consultant's fees, the premium lens, and all follow-up care. 0% finance is available to spread the cost.
